I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Hi Judy, I agree. If we are to be the authority in the classroom and lead the students throughout the course we must have some credentials and experiences that put us in that position. By sharing this information we are establishing our position in the class. Gary
Hi Carlos, How do you bring that feeling about for the students in your class? Any strategies you can share with us will be appreciated. Gary
Hi Linda, Yes it is. It is critical for setting the stage for a successful and progressive course for everyone. Gary
Hi Franklin, Students really like success stories as you know. So the more you can incorporate them into your instruction the more you will be showing relevance and application. Gary
Hi Edith, I agree with you about the need for a checklist so you make sure to cover what you want and need to for that class session. We are there to instruct our students and we can only do that if we are prepared and ready to go. Gary
Hi Nancy, I like your last sentence. I think it puts instructor enthusiasm into perspective for us. If we are excited they will be excited and learning will be enhanced. Gary
Discussion Comment
Hi Nancy, This is so important to both instructional and content improvement. The more input we can have from the students the more information we have from which to make adjustments. Gary
Hi June, These are good strategies for keeping the students involved in the learning process. They see how what you are teaching will benefit them. Gary
Hi Krystal, Good points about how to impact the learning of your students. Preparation leads to effective presentations. We need to dynamic and excited about what we are teaching and deliver it in a way that engages the students. Gary
Hi Luke, Good to hear about the content you were able to take away from this module. I know is going to expand your expertise and delivery abilities. Keep up the good work. Gary
