Hi Kathy, Good caution. Praise needs to be earned and given in relation to progress toward a goal. If not given this way as you mention it becomes of no value to anyone. Gary
Hi Tate, What are those new techniques which reflect current trends? Are they in the field or are they instructional delivery techniques? Thanks for you input on this. Gary
Hi Judy, Good for you. Shorter lecture segments really make a difference in the learning of students. They can stay engaged and focused plus then they can make applications of the newly acquired content before they move to the next lecture segment. Gary
Hi Tate, What method to you use to get feedback from your students? Thanks. Gary
Hi Barbara, Good point. I am sure we all have had such an instructor in our past. We were afraid just to enter the "Temple of Doom" or other wise known as a classroom. You knew for the next several hours there was not going to be a smile, laugh or light moment. Glad to hear you want to make your classroom one of comfort and share some light moments with your students. Gary
Hi Barbara, You have a great blend of instructional varieties going in your class. I am sure you have your students engaged and focused as a result of your lecture lengths, guest speakers, field trips. etc.. This is what good teaching is all about. Keep up the great work! Gary
Hi Drieca, You are covering so many different aspects of instruction that I know you have your students engaged throughout the class. Great job! The use of your "full time job" as a story source makes the course come alive because you have just lived that experience. Gary
Hi Franklin, I like this tie in for your class. I am sure your students appreciate the connection between music and Auto Engineering. Shows other applications of the content they are learning. Gary
