About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Hi Judith, I like your three work description of your instructional style. These are words that say so much about how effective you are in working with your students and providing them support with their learning. I wish you much teaching success. Gary

Hi David, The more you can connection the content of your course to the real world the better. You are doing a great job of that with your sharing of real life situations with your students. I use case studies and find that the students really enjoy getting to work through these real life situations. Gary
Hi David, A very sound and professional way to approach the classroom. This is the foundation for the development of respect by both you and your students. Gary
Hi David, I agree with you. You will have more insight on how to target your instruction when you have this information. Gary
Hi Sue, Yes, it is and it gets a lot of communication going in the class. It is good to have some fun while still learning as it is with the games. Gary
Hi Bruce, Good list of ways to expand one's expertise as an educator. These opportunities will help one to achieve real growth. Gary
Hi Lawrence, So true and so important. This is the way to get the information burned into their minds and available for use later on. Gary
Hi Sarah, It is critical for instructional success. Poor preparation creates poor results. Instructors have to put forth the effort if they are going to expect the same from their students. Gary
