About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Activity

Hi Justin, Good example and good explanation of why the trust factor is diminished as a result of appearance. We need to always remember that we are a model for those in whom we come in contact. Gary
Hi Gary, You make a very good point in relation to reasons for success. If the students can see relevancy and application they will increase their effort leading to a higher level of success. Gary
Hi Agustin, Key points about not only while in the class but while you are preparing for it. Professionalism carries throughout our instructional lives no matter what stage we are in sharing content. Gary
Hi Jeff, Well said! Gary
Hi Robert, You used a key word that works with adults--relevancy. This is so important as you know. If we can show relevancy and then make application we have accomplished much with learner like this. Gary
Hi Jeff, All good strategies to keep the students engaged and focused on acquiring new knowledge and skills. Gary
Hi Bertram, Good strategy. The students need that extra boost at that point in the course so they don't wear down completely and give up. Gary
Hi Aquila, So true. By reflecting on the fact you need to get the wind back in your sails and then working on getting it done you will refresh your teaching efforts. Also, your attitude will be enhanced so you will start enjoying once again why you became a teacher. Gary
Hi Kim, Good strategies in both areas. This way your are going to expand your expertise as an instructional delivery expert as well as a clinician. This is a win win for everyone. Gary
Hi Meron, I like them as well because they generate involvement and application on the part of students. What is your biggest payoff in using discussions? Gary
