About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Activity

Bethanne, I like your approach to teaching. You are engaging your students in both the professional and personal areas of development. You are modeling behavior and enthusiasm for the field and that sets the stage for their success. Keep up the good work. Gary
Evelyn , Right you and something we need to always keep in the front of our minds as we work with students. Gary
Brenda, I think this is a great of idea. You are not only enhancing the learning of your students but getting them involved in the professional development process which they will be involved with throughout their careers. You are setting the stage for life long learning. Great job. Gary
Sandy, Thank you for this great list of strategies to help your students in the learning process. The results of your efforts are going to yield increased learning and student engagement. Gary
Nancy, I do to. I get great information that helps me to finalize my instructional approach based upon the outcomes of my pretest. Gary
Julia, I think this will be a fun project that will produce great results for you in the area of behavior management. Gary
Dovie, Good point and one we instructors always need to keep in our minds. We need to be prepared and organized as we start a new class off so we can create the needed good first impression. Gary
Jessica, This is a good way to exchange information while getting the students settled into the course. In addition, just as you mention you get to know a little about each other on the human level. Gary
Tina, This is true for most students since they start to see the application and relevancy to what they have been studying. This really increases the motivation level for the students. Gary
Evelyn , Good suggestions for ways to improve both the effectiveness and clarity of lectures. This will be valuable for all instructors to consider. Gary
