About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Activity

Daisy, I agree. Observations and listening are very valuable learning tools for us all. Gary
Brenna, This is a good way to get students engaged in the learning process. Your field has so many components I am sure you will be able to share odd medical facts with them for years to come. Sounds like a fun course. Gary
Lisa, Great to hear. I wish you continued teaching success. Gary
John, This is truly a unique approach. The blend of old, new and taste into a result helps to illustrate in the minds of students the whys and hows of what they are learning. Well done. Gary
John, Great to hear about the success of this approach. You are using the different senses to help them acquire the content they need to have. A smell, sight or taste memory will help them to recall an ingredient when they are being tested. Gary
Samantha, Good strategy. Students are used to having their negatives pointed out but to have their positives included as well shows them that progress is being made in their learning. This increases as you say the motivation level and helps to keep them engaged. Gary
Sandy, So true and so important. We are helping to create in the minds of our students what a professional in our field looks and acts like. Gary
Aldgenette, Good approach and one that lets the students use their newly acquired knowledge. In addition if helps them to secure the content in their minds. Gary
Dewayne, Good for you. Keep that energy flowing. As long as you are excited your students will be excited. Gary
Pearl, What are some rapport development strategies you can share with us. Thanks for your input on this. Gary
