Billy, Not sure which outline you are referring to. Can you give me some more information and I will be glad to share what I have with you. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Billy, I have read that book and found it was very informative to my perspective of instructional delivery. I find it interesting that the discovery method is much like the Socratic method of using questioning and self discovery as learning tools. This method is over 2000 years old. Maybe we have gone full circle. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Josef, You make a very good point for knowing the characteristics of students. Knowing these characteristics help with the development of rapport with students. Gary Dr. Gary Meers

Billy, I commend you for the way you reinforce the success opportunities for your students. You are giving them support and encouragement as they approach a course that may not be their favorite. I teach a required gen ed course as well so my challenge is to get them to see the value of what I am teaching and try to get them forget that it is a required course. I am a big fan of rubrics as well. They really help to target the reasons why points were given and lost in relation to an assignment as you know.… >>>

Afshan, Good strategy. Students retain content when they get to immediately use their newly acquire knowledge and skills. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Margaret, These two things are extremely valuable as you know. They really generate interest with the students as well as increase their motivation. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Traci, Great to hear about the help the module was to you. Keep talking to other instructors and looking for ways to offer this information to your students. Seek their feedback as well. I have found that my students come up with some very clever ideas on how to learn technical information like that you are teaching. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Joseph, Good idea. They not only hear from you they are seeing the other aspect of your life that drive you to be the educator that you are. Good personal and professional touch. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Beth, So good to hear that you had educators that helped you to acquire your zeal for teaching. Have fun, enjoy your students and bring the passion. This is what being a professional is all about. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Anton, This type of sharing I believe is important in giving your students the total picture of your commitment to your field. Knowing that your field is also a major part of your personal life demonstrates passion that you are hoping the students will catch as they study. Keep up the sharing. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
