I learned that there are always different types of students, students who want to participate and those that don't, and those that don't understand how to particapte in a discussion with effective communication. This module helped to understand the different learning types, and how to guide them in a positive way without being overly judgemental or harsh on the student, but how to provide constructive feedback to help them in their online educational journey. 

Module 3 gave great information on asynchronous and synchronous discussions that I will use in my online teaching. I could see how a synchronous session going over course material would not be a good idea, as it would move fast, and wouldn't really allow time to absorb the information. I think it would be good for a questions and answer session, but limited to this sort of interaction. Asynchronous sessions give great opportunities for learning opportunities and to give constructive feedback about relevant discussions. Module 2 gave information about creating your online presence that I think is helpful when establishing and maintaining a relationship with students. I believe I will utilize the techniques discussed to engage the students from the beginning of class, setting expectations, and sharing knowledge, and reminding them that above all I am here to support and guide them and want to see them succeed. 

Teaching online brings its own challanges when trying to engage students to particapate and stay active in the online classroom. This material was a good starting point on the different aspects of the online classroom, and basics of engaging students to learn in the online classroom. I think this was great information on the different communication strategies to use, how the online classroom is set up, and how to engage and have students particpate online.
