Since this module dealt with strategies for keeping course records, communicating with students, counseling students, dealing with undesirable behavio, resolving student conflicts and minimizing student attrition, I realzie that my time commitment to teach onlne should be at least 50 per cent more than I have agreed to be compensated.

My first class I have put together a powerpoint with facts and photos of my professional accomplishments.  Since I worked in my field for over 40 years, this takes me back to 1974... no cell phones , no internet, etc.  This provides the start of a conversation about technology and where it used to be and where is it going.

Because of the many mitigating factors in the online learning environment (asynchronus attendance, internet speed, etc.) the key is PREPARATION.  If something goes wrong, the insturctor must be able topi vot and provide the students with an alternative so that the learning  can be as enriching as possible.
