Sitting in the back where you can see all the students while taking the exam makes them aware that you are watching them, thereby discourages cheating. Walking around while they're taking their tests/exams makes them nervous or more nervous so refrain from doing that. Great info!

I like the idea of assigning the TALKATIVE/CENTER-STAGE students as OBSERVERS if they continue to have their own ways after you spoke to them in private. I would also make use of the USE-IT-WISELY cards to keep students' participation to a minimum and give others chances to participate as well.

Comment on Harold Hegge's post: yes, I like the idea of using the cards for students to write a little something about themselves too!

Knowing your students by name and being able to pronounce their names correctly is a good way to connect with the class! The video was pretty informative too!

An Instructor as a good model to his/her students in every way - coming to class prepared and ready, be on time if not early for class - are ways that students can see and aspire to be in their careers. Great read!

Federal law does not promise accommodation - it simply promises protection from discrimination. It has been in the back of my mind that Institutions need to provide proper accommodation for our disabled population during their time of learning but here I learned that federal law does not promise it! Yet looking deeper into it, I realized that proper accommodation somehow protects this population from discrimination. Very good read!

The Solomon Amendment which is a federal law that allows military recruiters to access info of students is something that is new to my ears (as I listened to this module). And such access doesn't even need to be in the record!

There's a ton of information here. A great read!

AACRAO has sample forms for various types of Release Authorizations - good to know.

Very good information on how to handle students' information and protecting their privacy.
