Backward planning lesson plans are a good way of ensuring objectives are properly identified.

I learned that xthe sequence of my lesson plans should deliver a measurable outcome. What do I expect the student to know by the time they have finished a lesson and how will I assess that they met the objective?

Lesson plan folders will help me perfect my style the next time I instuct. It's a quick reference that I can use to compare what I taught and how I will adjust for the next course.

It is a good idea to establish a baseline of what your students already know. This allows you to develop the lesson plans focusing on what is missing from their knowledge and not repeating things they already know thus losing the student's attention.

Planning the lesson plan means practicing and testing out the plan before hand and to plan for back ups in the event the plan is not executed as planned on the day of lecture.

I learned that I should give a short introduction about myself and background but not to go into a deep conversation about it. I also learned that by starting class punctual and having my materials ready, it will provide me with ownership of the room which tells learners that I have control of the class.

I learned the importance of showing up to class early and prepared. I should take the time to reiew and thoroughly understand the topics and materials which I will be covering in order to be technically and professionaly proficient.

I learned that I will need to develop the two attributes that will define my teaching style: my professional presentation and delivery of my subject.

Testing should match what the instructor is looking to test. If terminology is being test, short answer testing would be a great option

The different testing mechanisms should match what is being tested. If essay question is used, it should state the length the essay is expected to be and the instructor should have a list of acceptable topics/answers that will be acceptable.
