I am a graduate of the Univ. of Maryland Dental Hygiene program, 1989. I have been a dental hygienist for 27 years. I entered the teaching field in the Spring of 2012. Right now I am enjoying this, as this is a new adventure for me.

i enjoy traveling, reading, classical music and jazz

New generation of students

This is my first year teaching. I must say that the adult students I have encountered are narcicisstic in their view of the world. I feel a lot of the students do not even try to do their best, or can't be bothered. They seem to feel they should be spoon fed all the information. It certainly is an eye opener. I do think Parents are somewhat to blame, even though parents don't want to take the blame. These students don't hold themselves accountable if mommy and daddy are going to pay for their tuition and ect. I have one… >>>

Shirley, I couldn't agree w/ you more. For all the years I was in Clinical Dental Hygiene, I loved it for the most part. Dealing with staff members was daunting at times. But actual Clinical, I loved. I hope I will be an effective teacher as I am just starting out. I just finished the 1st Ed 101 in Max Knowledge. I can only hope I can bring into practice what I am learning as a teacher.
