Hi Gordon: I'm all for helping students, but I want to help them learn, rather than earn a grade. I don't allow EC in my courses. My opinion is specific to my clases, which are medical, and there can be no weak spots when patient health and safety are at risk. Regards, Barry
Hi Michele: Giving our life and work experience along with structured lessons using contemporary resources will open the door to qualified students - if they are rightly motivated. Regards, Barry
Hi Michele: Connecting with your students this way builds relationships and shows that you care. Regards, Barry
Hi Jennifer: One good way to assist in this area is to look at your course objectives and use them to help you decide which objectives are mos critical, and then weighing these components heavier. Regards, Barry
Hi Stephen: Each institution and instructor has to decide how they are going bto treat various situations. Illness or medical reasons always is a tough call as usually there is no fault by the student, yet they can be penalized. Generally, I oppose awarding EC and so state at the beginning of my course and in my syllabus. Regards, Barry
Hi Maria: Both of these activities are sort of magical in that they inspire and motivae students to do their best based on the experiences and information obtained from the meetings. Regards, Barry
Hi Stephen: And of course the nbenefit is that we are able to better teach our courses based on where the students ae at in their learning. Regards, Barry
Hi Stephen: Right, I like to say student first, our agenda second. Regads, Barry
Hi Althea: I believe we owe our student the benefi of giving them all we can based on our past eduction, training, preparation, work experience, even mistakes made along the way. That's how progress will be made. Regards, Barry
Hi Kevin: Organized = thought and planning has preceded course Prepared = Media, lectures, training aids ready Result = Course taught thoroughly and completely. Regards, Barry
