I learned how important it is to have varying teaching styles, especially as a lecturer. By varying how you present, you keep more students engaged and on their toes!

That it helps to be human as well as an instructor so students can relate more to the content you are delivering to them, as its presented through a human being itself.

I learned that the syllabi is more than just outlining what a course will present to the students and what the students should expect to get from the course.  The syllabi also sets standards for student behavior by how professional it is presented, and reinforces what is expected of the student passively.

while i learned many important factors from this course to consider when teaching, the biggest take away I had was making sure to model your love for the subject matter for the students.  If its important to model professionalism, its important to model love for the subject matter as well!
