If you ask the right questions of your students you should identify that they have different needs and learning styles. That way you can adapt your style to better suit their needs. It is always important that you are approachable to all your student needs.

I thought that this was a very good course as it really helped me to understand how to prepair myself for students with disabilities in my class, I have had a student with a hearing disabilitiy in a class in the past and was really not prepaired for it!  I now feel that I have some knowledge about what I can do the next time to be more prepaired.

Many disabled students I have worked with show high levels of determination. They gain the respect of their peers and staff alike through their dedication and hard work. I have witnessed fellow students are comfortable and work with disabled students easily. It's hard not to admire a hard worker.

What ever happenend to the selfmotovated get ahead attitude this country had? Why is it my job to kick start a student who has chosen this and is paying to be here? So much for generation Y.

Motivation is key in the learning process. It triggers the interest and willingness to acquire new knowledge. I feel the instructor should be entertainer to keep everyone in the classroom happy while they are educated. It is a hard thing to do but it is possible

Having your students effectively apply concepts from the classroom in practical or personal settings is very extrinsically motivating. Having a student report back to you that your teaching actually helped facilitate the learning of some idea is very rewarding. In the classroom I am intrinsically motivated by the desire to be my own best self, and to constantly improve; to have a deeper understanding of subject matter, and to deliver information more efficiently.

intentionally make a part of my effort to asses the state of the individual and/or the total classroom. When either or all are in a poor state of mind their potential for learning is drastically decreased and thei impacts not only the individual but offer an opportunity for others in a more positive state to be dragged down. Sometime the notice that you notice and are making an effort to assist is enought to raise momentum on the emotional level and other times the state may involve some more direct intervention. it is a win-win situation for the student(s),classroom, and… >>>

I have learned that my classroom demeanor has a major impact on retention. Getting students involved to place them in their comfort zone is critical.
I try to use as many real-world examples as possible to illustrate the topic being discussed. Each student has different experiences and using a variety of examples helps every student to find one to which they can relate

The most significant outcomes are peer learning, which aids students in retaining and developing learned material, and enhancement of learning through a social process, which helps students develop much needed teamwork skills.
