Is there anything wrong with stating to the student in private and in the class setting that you appreciate his or her questions but in all fairness to all learners each student must be mindful not be the dominate contributor to class discussion?  Establish a few guidelines for class participation.  In future classes, it would be wise to establish these rules on the first day of class. All are expected to contribute.  With the provision of a class participation rubric, students can modify and regulate their behaviors to enhance participation.  Dominating the class discussion is graded negatively while listening actively… >>>

This course provided me with greater insights about the utlization of adaptive tools I presently have. In a few weeks, a new semester begins and I plan to use these tools to help students work at their own pace.  How do I help slow progressing students' work at their own pace and meet the required outcomes ? Has anyone found effective methods for students in this category? Please  share.

My students and I have access to companion adapative learning technology tool for our courses but it is not user friendly for either student or teacher. Have any of you implemented self designed adaptive learning in remedial English courses? If so what apps did you find helpful to use for adult learners? Are there costs to you or your institution for using these tools?

Many of the adult learners in my remedial Math and English classes do not learn as well through the technology component as digital natives. They find the technological overwhelming as they are trying to learn basic skills they have not mastered in the past. The traditional paper and pencil tests are familiar and more comfortable for them; their scores reflect  this comfortableness. The age and attitudes of the students determine the extent of technology use in my courses to complete homework and tests.

For what discipline have you developed this LMS? Will students be involved in a pilot program and will you then need to modify the program based on the pilot and analytical data?  It sounds very interesting.
