Miriam, I agree. The regs are to protect the student and compliance is key.
Tony, Wonderful! You are exceptional in bringing this personal experience to the prospective student.
April, All information regarding placement and salaries must have documentation substantiating the information. Gone are the days of giving such information without creditable sources.
Jay, Sounds like exciting opportunities ahead for your students. Pets are certaily our "other family" members. Ask to sit in on a few classes and talk with current students about their learning experiences. It helps to have a strong knowledge of the entire experience.
Tony, The CIE staff is there to help and you have a great resource to assist you. Having someone to explain details to you and having the opportunity to ask questions. Your program specialist is a great place to start.

Tony, I believe your remarks transcend other schools. Students often want a black and white answer and often confuse the terminology. Ultimately, your approach is getting them to the right information but most importantly, as you stated, to keep listening.
Vicki, Having the information at your fingertips shows you are organized and aware of information needed by the students. Great job!

Coralee, Never underestimate the power of resources. I would add the catalog and any material that you share with prospective student.
Vicki, The Commission for Independent Educaton is a consumer protection agency and is there to assist you. Staff is willing to take time and answer any questions you have in dealing with admissions or with students.
Vicki, Excellent strategy wit Career Services. They can provide you a link between school and the industry. Maybe you can ride along on some of the visits to employers and get a real feel of where your students work after graduation.
