To keep lectures in blocks of 15 minutes due to adult attention span. 

The concept of giving a pretest that first day as part of the introduction. 

Having a checklist for myself during lecture- something I did not necessarily think of as a new teacher. Having my own objectives and goals of how I want the lecture to go. 

Always model professionalism and lead by example. Simulate what the "real world" job will look like in the classroom (i.e- arrive on time, show respect, listen, speak professionally). Take time to reflect to improve each and every time you are in front of students.
