I found the section on transfer credits very interesting. As someone who transferred schools, I know the hassle that it can be. Understanding my school's transfer policy will help me communicate more effectively with students so they know exactly what will and will not transfer.

I learned about the different student services offered at each institution and how important it is to communicate what my institution offers to students. Students may be apprehensive about starting school and knowing what support systems are in place can really help ease that fear. 

I learned that even though we are primarily focused on admissions, we still have to be ready to provide information about financial aid. If I don't know the answer, I can connect the student with someone in the financial aid office and follow up with that student to ensure their questions were answered. 

Hello! I am new to the admissions counselor role, so this course will definitely help me get a grasp on all the important rules, regulations, and ethical concerns I should keep in mind while working with students. The list of terms was helpful to have because there are so many acronyms and terms in higher ed that it can be difficult to keep them all straight!
