About me

Activity

I like the idea of them getting their work done on time and if in the classroom they could ask questions if they get stuck.

I liked the ideas presented but I still find that on average if a student is just eaking by that they are content with just average as long as they pass. Gaming is fun to them only when it centers on their strengths not their weaknesses.

Teaching students how to be successful electrical apprentices involves more hands on skills rather than book skills. With that being said, it is important to keep showing them how their skills will allow them to keep their jobs. Employers have to dig in their pockets to pay you and they do not want to pay you for not retaining new skills that are taught to you in the field or you coming into the field with no real skills to offer them.

You need a full time employee that has mastered all of the regulatory rules on call at all times to answer each specific instance depending on the situation. In most cases you better not release any information without permission.

I have learned that you better know the guidelines or reach out for the correct answers before making decisions on FERPA related issues.

I learned that there are a variety of different learning styles and I need to be prepared to reach all students by attempting to teach or offer multiple learning styles so I can reach every student.

The key thing here is variety. Also preparation again helps the instructor and keeping a guide to your instructional notes keeps you from forgetting what to cover.

Always communicate with your students and it's OK if they know a bit about you. Even better if you know a little bit about them. It is the relationship that helps build trust.

I learned that as an instructor I need to be prepared, professional, and aware of my skills and my weaknesses. There are many ways in which you can improve on your instruction delivery methods in the classroom but you must be humble and open-minded. Preparation shows alot about you!!!
