There are several regulatory agencies that ensure compliance and regulations are followed by the school.  Ensuring quality outcomes is a top priority for the institution.  The state agencies regulate rules and guidelines for schools to maintain there license.  Students are entitled and expect a quality education along with the guideline to graduate and obtain a job.

Compliance training is a requirement for all staff members.

As an instructor I need to be aware of my thoughts and actions and the huge effect that it can have on my fellw instructors (peers) and the students that I will ineract with.  The responsibility that I have on the students is huge and so important.  A an instructor or even in the role as a mentor - I must support Concorde's culture of compliance.

As a new instructor I need to remember that I have the education and expertise in my field to teach the class.  Sharing that I am new and that this is the first time I am teaching really will not benefit me.  Being organized and focusing on class management should help with any anxiety that I may encounter during those first few classes.  Devloping a rapport is essential during the first few classes.  I believe that this will put me more at ease.

The information on student monitoring, behavior, and strategies will be invaluable to me as I start my teaching career.  Giving a student the option of filing a written complaint (which will be outlined in the syllabus) will be a great way towards resolution of a problem.  I find the various strategies provided to eye opening and to serve as a reminder that there are so many different types of personalities and backgrounds that each student will have.

The module gave so much information about the types of students that I will encounter over my teaching career.  I found many descriptions along with solutions and techniques to be very helpful.  The use of the course syllabus seems like a great place to start with listing goals and expectations.  The expectations will set the stage for what you want from the students and what you plan on giving back.

I picked up from this module that I am the subject matter expert (SME) and the instructional delivery expert(IDE) -- for my personal development I must try to set a balance between the two.

The section provided a large amount of information of the various types of testing that is available.  The information provided gave a lot of tips on why each type of testing is beneficial an in what circumstances.

From this module I learned about 'learning style' an the methods that individuals use are personal and useful to them.  When teachig several styles should be used in the learning process.  I will attempt to develop a way to incorporate several of the different styles into my classes.  Taking an assessment on learning styles would be helpful to me, as a new instructor.

It is important to take in account where teaching a class that every student learns differently.  There will be auditory, kinestheic, visual, and written learners.  Factors that need to be considered with these learning styles are the cognitive, emotional, and motivational factors that will ultimately help with student to learn.  It is important to attempt to includes all styles in your instruction so that you can capture 100% of your students.

It is important to develop and learn competencies so that you can go and build your own instructional style.  In your style there are many types of teaching/learniing that can be used.  Having a lesion plan in the beginning will guide you along the way.  Your delivery should demonstate competence, an interest, and an overall delivity plan.  You plans shoud vary and attempt to engage the student in the content that is being delivered.
