Be sure that the material is relevant and up to date.  Always align class materials with the CLOs

First impressions are important. Getting to know each student and making them feel that they are an important part of class will help to retain their interest. 

Prepare lessons early enough to allow for time to edit and revise as needed. Arrive at class early and ready to be engaging and excited for each class. 

I love the class that I teach, so I find it easy to be enthusiastic and excited. However, some chapter content can be "heavy" and "boring," so I combat this by creating games like Jeopardy to avoid a long, boring lecture. 

active learning incorporates critical thinking; it can incorporate each student's unique perspective as well as cultural considerations. 

Clear instructions on what is expected are key to student success. Utilizing rubrics and providing feedback on each assignment is part of the teaching and learning process.

Implementing active learning activities puts what you are discussing into practice. They are helping to create and/or finish stories in case studies and scenarios. 

Providing time in between mini-lessons to encourage activity within the course is fun for everyone! While students are engaging in active activities, they more often than not provide great insights into course topics. Students can answer their peers' questions and are interested in what their peers have to say. 

Extrinsic motivators serve as a valuable bridge to intrinsic motivation. To increase intrinsic motivation, I will create well-structured lessons, provide a variety of methods, and provide the power of choice. 

I feel that it is essential to familiarize myself with students' prior educational experiences. This way, I can have some general knowledge of what skills they are bringing to the course. Outlining the beginning of the class and ending with a summarization is key to conducting an organized classroom.
