Communication is very important in e-learning, due to it being one of the most effective avenues of communicaiton we have to use.  One challenge is people not checking their emails to stay up to date on important information.  I also found it useful to learn about the different learning styles, as we all learn differently. 

Knowing that everyone learns differently, using asynchronous and synchronous discussions will allow everyone the opportunity to participate.  As teachers, we like for our students to participate and they learn in the process.

The idea of the biography about yourself and the students completing one add a personal touch and you really get to know your students likes and dislikes.  

It is very important to be familiar with the content that you teach and knowing the method the material will get to you students.  Setting expectations for the students is also important.
