Taking these classes do charge your batteries. I get one idea and it motivates me to do better.

Keeping a student viewed as a customer also allows us to remember what it was like when we were students and what would have helped us.

This class really help me know more of the details to met and exceed the expectations of being an online instructor. I expecially like the training plan. I have needed something to help me keep track of the training I need to stay current.

I also appreciated the review of the compliance rules and policies. Knowing how to stay legal is important knowledge.

I have been teaching these classes about 4 years. I learn something new each time I teach. I appreciate having something freah to enhance my teaching/facilutating methods. Especially for the discussion questions what methods are you using to keep your responses fresh each time you answer your students?

For those who are teaching a class with My Lab.

There may be a time for closed questions. When you need to do a very quick review of a concept or process this questioning method is effective. What do you think?

Open questions lead to more discussion among other students. Teach them to ask open ended questions can open up the discussion even more.

This idea sounds like a voice of experience. The student with all the answers might also be asked to prepare a short presentation based on the reseach you assigned.

The world of a Special Ed teacher in the early days tended to be a lowly but rewarding career. Now the self contained classroom is seldom used. The streaming of special children into their age appropriate classroom has created a better environment for all students. Is has also created better trained teachers. The best practices of the special ed teacher has become main stream pedagogy in the "regular" classroom.

What are your thoughts and experiences?

I will make sure to take the retention course. Teaching online has it's challenges when it comes to retention.
