I agree it is important to post rules on netiquette for discussion board posts. I would like to learn more about creating a rubric for discussion board posts. They always seem subjective and harder to grade.
I appreciate the idea of a discussion board post with the student's biography. Additionally I like the idea of the 1st day and 1st week messages to students and attaching my biography as well.
It is very important for the instructor to have a thorough knowledge of the CMS platform's functionality. The more familiar you are with the CMS the better you can set up the course, engage learners, and achieve active learning.
