I need to post some safety rules in the greenhouse, not only for my students who learn the rules but for everyone entering the greenhouse to see that we have rules of safety we follow. I have not had many visitors lately due to Covid but we intend to have plant sales again and this is a good reminder of how important safety is in the classroom, lab or shop.

I need to incorporate more rubrics. I think students respond well to them in general.

I like the fact that students often take the reading more seriously in an active classroom, learning the material outside of class becomes important to the lab or shop activites. I find this true for most of my students as I have recently switched to a more active classroom for my greenhouse management class. It was an older student who helped make that switch too. All so interesting.

It totally makes sense why some lab activities are just a movement through steps rather than a thinking, cognitive excercise. It is important to work in the theory and practice for a full learning experience.
