The way in which content is presented is important for the learner. It is also essential to present content organized with objectives that help students advance to the next phase of learning. Visual aids also support learning since they can reinforce textual information and help with retaining the information. 

Distance learning has changed over time from mailings to online engagement and response. Over 21% of colleges offer at least 1 online course. It is also vital how the online course is presented to the learner. This can enhance or reduce learning. 

It is important to identity very early in the course why students are enrolled in school. It is also important to identity the different type of challenges students maybe facing that may interfere with their learning. Lastly, it is vital for students who have just finished high school to learn independence and responsibility regarding assignments and not be coddled. 

Rubrics can decrease the stress of assessments. Group projects help students to work together as well as teach them to contribute to the group as a whole. Each student may have their own strengths which can be beneficial when working together. 

The classroom environment should be comfortable ad welcoming. However, guidelines should be put in place as well as requirements of the course. Additionally, do not rush to try and fit everything in during the first class. It is better to be clear and concise and pick-up where you left off in the next session. 

Preparation is key to the success of the classroom setting as well as connecting with students. It is also vital to understand the material being taught as well as the text that the students will use as part of the learning process.
