Activity

Quality e-learning courses employ the capabilities of learning delivery technologies to foster multi-sensory learning experiences, and multimedia learning environments that are controlled and managed by the learner’s action and decisions.

Course content needs to include activities where critical thinking and problem-solving are practiced by the students. Activities like case studies can be assigned to workgroups that can meet via zoom or any other interactive two-way communication format to discuss and work together to find solutions to the problem presented. It is important that whatever activity is assigned has built-in strategies for engaging every student.

"Make notes about the lecture. When you complete the class it is a good idea to immediately make some notes about your observations of  how the lecture went. These notes should be brief and to the point concerning successes and rough sections. Make these notes while the   lecture is fresh in your mind. When you prepare to give this lecture again these notes will serve to jog your memory about points you want to make and improvements that you can implement."

I think reflecting over my class is a good way to improve my classroom presentation.

"As you dismiss class for the day, take a deep breath and think about how things went."

The end of class is good reflection point to think about how the class went.  It is a good habit to get into for the end of each class to check on what went good, what needs to improve, and what to keep for the next time the class is run.

"Another way of keeping on top of emerging needs or situations is to have a note pad with you at all times. By jotting down supply needs, calls that need to be made about financial aid, etc., you will save yourself much grief when later you are trying to remember what you said you would do for a particular student."

When I read this I thought this is a great idea!  I sometimes will not remember all the request from students or items that I need to do after class; having a pad and writing it down saves much brain… >>>

One of the best ways to motivate students is working with them to recognize the positive progress they have made and to help them see their goal that is in front of them.
