It's good to know that National and State licensing and certification Boards are required to provide the same accommodations that colleges are required to provide.

Understanding the difference between an acceptable and unacceptable request is important.

Having a military parent and sibling with PTSD; I viewed the disorder differently. This training has brought to light how PTSD can affect students and what measures to implement to ease the transition.

HIPAA Privacy Rule excludes coverage from those records that are protected by FERPA at school districts and postsecondary institutions that provide health or medical services to students. 

Remember there are also instances where state laws may differ from FERPA guidelines.

It's important to remember that, institutions must disclose educational records without the written consent of students to the students who request to see information from their own records

It's important to remember that students and parents have the right under FERPA to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education. 

Title IX and VAWA are about building safer campuses by conducting investigations and disciplinary procedures without delay.

This module reinforced the importance of maintaining a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for all students. I will apply what I learned by treating others with respect, recognizing inappropriate behavior and following the proper reporting procedures when needed.
