Archiving your work is important because sometimes the change that you were looking for was not achieved, by having this backup you can more easily correct the changes made.

 

Consistent feedback will greatly increase the student’s participation and the quality of the work being turned in.

 

Using a model will allow you to develop a more complete module, well prepared for the students to learn from.  This should allow for less changes in the module after evaluation, more minor adjustments.  Also using templates to set up your modules to provide consistency for you and your students.

 

Starting off with good workload management is almost identical to the design process, both are set up to solve or prevent problems or waste.

 

Encourage the students to set aside the necessary time for learning each module.  Hopefully this will be helpful in encourage productivity and participation.  This along with consistent instructor feedback should help many of the students succeed at distance learning.

 

When deciding on technology to be used, make sure it meets your needs and make sure the student’s have the technology and the skills to use it.

 

Clear communication is important from both instructor and learners no matter the format, I2S, S2I or S2S.

 

Time management is so vital to online learning success, so providing some order to this that works for each student is vital.  Setting a time for work each day and a calendar to monitor due dates will be very important to most students' success.

 

Rubrics are an important part of communication and should be given at the time of the assignment to better communicate the expectations for the project.

Making sure that you set the standards with the rules for communication and then making sure that you match the standards that you set is so important.
