FERPA and HIPAA are very similar and are very transparent in today's society.  Although everyone knows of them they often do not think that applies when it comes to them.  I think that FERPA is important in that each student deserves to be able to come to school knowing that their information will not be shared with anyone.  As an instructor I tell students that I do not want them to even discuss their grades in the classroom.  Not everyone feels comfortable sharing that inforamtion and should not be put in an situation that they fell that they have to. … >>>
