Activity

Sarah, Most excellent!! Keep up the great work and take joy in the times you get to see some of the results!! Well done. Dr. S. David Vaillancourt
Sarah, There will, of course, always be some who do not engage. Nevertheless, some of the ones who would have been lost are saved because of these 'extra' efforts. Keep up the outreach. ;-] Dr. S. David Vaillancourt
Sarah, Every term each of us stuggles with this. Issuing the same message, multiple times in different formats (email, discussion board, class announcement) and referring each to the other, helps some. Dr. S. David Vaillancourt
Jenny, I thank you for your candid input. Some on this forum may not understand to what you are referring. Could you identify a few of those "abundant ways" that are not available online? Thank you very much for your contributions. Dr. S. David Vaillancourt
Jenny, Agreed. However, what steps do you think should be taken before "drawing the line?" Dr. S. David Vaillancourt
Sarah, You are very correct. Providing accurate expectations for students can provide a level of security that will help them succeed. Excellent point. Dr. S. David Vaillancourt
Chris, Your indication of constant problem-solving in different scenarios makes sense. This seems like, as you say, "a step toward becoming a better critical thinker" at the foundation level. Thank you for sharing your insights. Dr. S. David Vaillancourt
Chris, Very good. Requiring students to delineate their thinking process in a visual format is an excellent method for enhancing the process within each student and, of course, being able to assess the process. Nicely done. Dr. S. David Vaillancourt
Chris, This is an excellent description. Well stated. Dr. S. David Vaillancourt
Hi Guillaume, I am so glad to know of the progress you are making. Keep up the great work. Dr. S. David Vaillancourt
