Activity

"Closing the Loop" is a major part of the teaching profession. Using quantitative and qualitative methods to evaluate the teachers and curriculum will help create better courses in the future. Scoring instructors as well as allowing for anonymous feedback on course material may be a great way to start.

I will begin by identifying the areas where a formative assessment can be applied. After doing so I can create the assessment and administer it using a S2I communication system. Summative assessment are easily implemented using the curriculum. Adding instant feedback for the summative assessments will be mandatory in the future programs I am a part of.

I will begin by identifying an avenue for the students to be able to communicate with the instructors individually and as a group. This will be defined in the syllabus so future issues will be mitigated. Using a scaffolding approach, I will identify subjects in the Syllabi that will allow for assignments to build on one another.

Using existing formats and templates, I will need to test the modules before instituting them. Not all formats allow for ease-of-use when sending out assignments or discussions. This can be done with our current personnel and current students to gain an understanding of how it will affect both parties. Ease of navigation will be paramount for our students.

As a student I have always kept learning logs for each program I have completed. I usually do this for future reference but never knew it had a title. I will implement this into my next program. I will have to make a determination for how often I inspect them, unless looking over them each lesson is necessary?
