As an instructor online, communicating with your students is so important for a successful outcome. Keeping students engaged and providing content that is easy to understand and access.
Being consistent, being available, evaluation of the teaching materials, layout of courses and student outcomes are important while providing an online education.
A a facilitator/teacher of an online course one needs to keep the finger on the pulse of the learning environment...and provide feedback and encourage participation.
Offering both methods will give the student the ability to both contribute when possible considering their individual needs, and participating with real time instructor responses.
Once an instructor identifies their particular style of teaching partnered with the needs of their student body, as a whole and individually, one can acess the many different learning tools available to reach a successful outcome.

Career Ed Lounge is embedded in over eighty professional development portals serving the career and technical education community. Performance Groups in the Lounge are integrated with related learning opportunities offered on these portals. With a few exceptions, Performance Groups are also publicly available to any member of the Lounge to maximize peer-to-peer learning and performance outcomes.
