This module provided us with different types of assessments and how they should be used to ensure the best learning outcome for our students.

In this module we learned the difference between assesment and evaluation and how the two are crutial to the learning and teaching enviornment. Also learned about diagnostic assessment and how important it is to apply before a course to see what knowledge the student has about the course.

You should make sure as an instructor that you understand the technology tools and material you use both in class and online will be most effective to your students learning experience and success.

Communication, collaboration, organization and the use of the rubric will help the students feel that they are a part of an online community where they can engage with one another and be successful at reaching their goals.

As instructors we should plan accordingly due to the different generational groups in our classroom and develop guidelines and activities in such a way that they may communicate and engage with each other smoothly and effectively. 

We need to make sure that the communication skills, rules and regulations are clear, concise, appropriate and ongoing. That there are guidelines that everyone involved (instructors and students) should follow and implement like: being polite, mindful of others, respectful and professional.

There is a lot of technology and social media tools we can carefully implement in our courses that can help the students learn, communicate and be succesful in their studies. As instructors we need to review each source and see what will be more effective for the course and the students. We need to ask for feedback from students to see if the technology, social media or tools we used for the course were helpful and if we should keep for future courses or make the appropriate changes.

I learned that when creating a course module it needs to be consistent and clear and you should maintain a database as information can be saved and saves time to locate things quicker. This helps the students navigate easily through the course, feel comfortable and less confused, willing to interact with others and complete assignments with ease.

I have learned that there are different behaviors that may appear and can be challenging to online learning but also that there are ways to help the learners and how we can best deal with these behaviors. How we can counsel online, better communicate with learners and minimize student attrition.

There are different styles of teaching and learning, whether it be synchronous or asynchronous, you just have to prepare yourself well with the material, make sure you encourgage learner's participation in the discussion session, that they can interact with each other, that the comments are to the point, clear and concise and make it to where they can feel confident and motivated to do well.
