The instructor must project an online presence in the course and authority in the subject area.

 

The instructor must learn all functions related to the CMS.

 

It is important to recognize the signs of the various types of challenging students and utilize specific techniques to manage their behavior. 

 

The syllabus is a key component in setting expectations for students.  I always review the course syllabus during the first class session.  It is also important to check for student comprehension of course assignments and expectations.  Provide ample opportunity for students to ask questions in order to clarify anything they do not understand.
