I love the CEE courses and this one was exceptionally helpful in teaching me about keeping students engaged and interested. I especially liked the law teacher exerpts as he is very enticing in his speech and gestures. I would take his class just to watch him! LOVE

One student in the class

It is always a real challenge when circumstances lead to one student in the classroom. I implement a lot of projects and extra lab. Other suggestions are welcome of course.

Student success is within our control

We, as instructors, should never believe that student success is out of our control. We can always find and way to keep the students engaged and learning. If you give up on even one student and stop trying to help then you may not even realize the impact you could have made with that individual. You are truly in a position as an instructor to change lives for the better.

Preparation of student materials

I believe my Montessori training helps to prepare students for daily materials. I always say what we will do today....tomorrow and how it all fits together. It promotes organization in the class. I might say, we are going to lab today, first we will go over the lab, then assign lab functions for students by name or number, then a reminder of lab rules, etc., end result is no confusion and much less random activity.
