Our students have an area in there lessons that they can “show what they know” and it is open for comment, in a sense blogging.

In this module I have learned there are so many sites to utilize for students learning to expand. I plan on exploring many of these sites in the near future to assist with expanded learning

Tho the courses I teach are mainly hands on we do use social networking to reach out to connect with the public, show the students work, post about helpful skin care tips, and specials we have going on in our student clinic, to gain clients. Social networking is a very useful tool.

Online courses can be a challenge due to the different types of learners there are. Policy and procedures must be followed to a tee so as each student has the opportunity to learn.

Being prepared for the asynchronous learning by posting all the information needed for the students. Be available for discussion at different times to accommodate everyone.

Student navigation within the CMS will be determined on how much they themselves know about e-Learning and whether or not the instructor has the knowledge to assist them.

Electronic Communication and keeping good organized documentation with students. 

Begin online with an open question to peak interest and get conversation going. Get to the learning point quickly making sure to keep the students interest. Check for understanding at a few points. Synchronous and asynchronous are important for student participation.
