It's important to remember how formative assessments drive our instruction.

Making sure that learning is scaffolded and keeps students engaged.  Online and Classroom.

Biggest takeaway is making sure all learning styles are addressed and make sure to differentiate online instruction.

Rubrics are a great way to show an instructors expectations and give student immediate feedback

To encourage participation and also monitor communication guidelines, rubrics should be used.

I'm assuming many of these topics we are learning about apply to post-secondary schooling.  All classes that apply to secondary education that I have taken have been adamant about not using social media or texting to communicate with students.  As it has been stated, I would like to investigate this more as students are more likely to use a social media app rather than e-mail.

Keeping records of everything and identifying problems early on seems to be the key in managing students in an online environment.  Organization is key.

Learning about the different learning styles was helpful, especially the first three and how this can inhibit learning in an online environment.  Also the importance of asynchronous learning and the challenges on synchronous learning

Important to connect with students just like the classroom.  Biography to start is good advice and sets the tone of the class.

We are responsible for knowing a LMS in and out to make sure that online instruction flows smoothly.
