New students need help to get started on campus, and the best way to do this is through orientation programs. These programs provide a friendly, welcoming atmosphere  that helps students feel at home. This also gives students a chance to meet people and make friends through fun activities. To maintain the good school relationship, initiated with students at orientation, advising programs are strongly recommended. This allows the school to follow-up with the student on a regular basis. The student's problems can be discussed and solved at these meetings and students can also be informed on how to to improve their… >>>

Since student indecision as to major or career options is a primary factor in student persistence, advising programs should have strong links to career services on campus as part of any retention plan. Advising and career services should be, if possible, interrelated so that students see the connection between their academic planning and their career goals.

I liked this course and its creative ideas; however I wish there were some ideas related to the dental field and not just the medical field. I can use a couple of the creative ideas within the classroom but most did not apply to the dental field-mouth, teeth, etc....

To write a performance evaluation you want to start with the positive. List and describe the things an employee does well. If there are things that need to be worked on, list those as well, but in a positive tone with suggestions on how to work on the. Lastly you want to mention goals for the next year, or until the next performance evaluation.

This training course has opened my eyes to the legal issues involved with employers, employees, and students rights in regards to compliance. It's amazing how politically correct we have to be in education at all times. Sometimes its easier said then done. This course has definitely been a learning experience for me.

An important ingredient of soft skills is work ethic. Professionalism has everything to do with how you conduct yourself while in the workplace. Some of the most important ingredients that stand for professionalism include appropriate dressing sense, integrity, optimism and enthusiasm. These are the skills that make a good manager or a leader. Having these leadership qualities ensure that you successfully complete the given assignment and contribute towards the business growth of the company.

This course had some very creative ideas on different ways to teach. Sometimes just lecturing on a topic can get very boring to the students. Even though the creative ideas were geered towards medical topics, I can still utilize a few of the ideas into the dental classroom as well. I recommend this course to all instructors who are looking for something different for the classroom.

To be a great compliance leader requires the manager to exert a great amount of influence. Managing employees within any compliance department is the first step. A compliance professional must reach out across an organization to all groups and departments to develop relationships which can be used in furthering a company's compliance goals. The foundation of this strong network is created by a compelling team. A strong network will aloow your compliance team a path to acheive its goals within the company. Overall, this training was very informative and helpful.

Here are my thoughts on ED 105: get to know each student.
• Identify each student’s strengths and interests.
• Identify family concerns that may impact on each student’s ability to participate in school activities.
• Identify collaborative skills and other priority skills for each student to learn or practice.
• Identify supports for helping the student succeed.
