Educators can communicate effectively by establishing strong rubrics. Rubrics are great tools that are used to assess students.

I learned that it is imperative for educators to understand generational diversity to help identify strengths and weaknesses in traditional and nontraditional students. It is also important to identify students' technical skills and equip them with the tools they need in order to be effective and successful while attending online courses. Soft skills also play a major role in online learning, such as communication, self-discipline, time management, critical thinking, and open-mindedness.

It is imperative to establish a Communication Code of Conduct to communicate accurate and organized information. It is also important to set regulations and go over them with students to ensure they follow the rules and understand the consequences when certain rules are not followed.

I have learned that there are many forms of communication and that it is imperative to assess technology tools to ensure high-quality communication between instructor to the student (I2S), student to instructor (S2I), and student to student (S2S). To ensure that the technology device is effective, it is also important to ask questions that will help identify obstacles that may arise during the technology trial phase.

It is imperative to document accurately, timely, and objectively.  One can do this by utilizing the Motive, Assessment, Progress, Plan (MAPP) Model to document interactions with students.

it is imperative to eliminate data errors by handling student's records with care and by reviewing the documents that are included in files. Higher education institutions should implement a workflow process to ensure that data errors are eliminated; it is also important to strive for continuous improvement.

When it comes to establishing a verification program,  it is imperative for postsecondary institutions to collect institutional, student, program, and employer data. Qualitative and quantitative data can also be collected through various collection methods such as questionnaires, interviews, and third-party verifiers.

In this module, I learned that it is imperative for higher education programs to gather data that will help them track, collect, verify, modify, and assess educational programs to help achieve positive student outcomes. Collecting graduation and employment data will also reveal patterns and trends within postsecondary institutions that will help students during the college search process.
