If a student dose not make It to class on the first day as an Instructor you must bring that student up to speed ASAP if you can ask them to stay after class you can make up the first day notes and get them going if you do not you can lose that student very quick .

Hard skills verssis soft

You can have all the lab skills in the world, but if you can not get the student to understand then all those tech skills go right out the window and what good is that, Its up to you, to see that light come on that's the best feeling as an Instructor and Its all worth the work that you do.

Keeping Students in class.

I find that students who want to go home the problem is not school, Its something out side, so if the Instructor can talk to them you can save them but you have to care, and thy know and they respond.

Student retention

I find that if speek to students the way that I speek to the other Instructor thay seem to respond to that so much better than if you try to talk above them let them know that you are one of us.

Students from all over the world.

To teach In my school you must have the time and pachunts the students like to rush and then thay make mistakes that cost them points the non English speking students take time to understand and do a beter job than my Americans.

Testing and grading

I find that if I grade the test right away and revew that day the student gets more out of the test to see were thay went wrong.

Have Fun !

In the class or lab in my case I could make it hard on the students ,but I I find that you can have fun and get the Information out there and not make it HELL.

I find that if I like what I am doing the students get more out of It. If you just put the Imformation out there and hope thy get It.

If I have a student who is not sure of there job prospects thay tend to add classes to stay in school longer.

Take some me time

I take very little me time my job and my home life takes up all of my time but I just started to go to the gym and make some time for Dave.
