Using various teaching methods helps to keep students engaged. Learning to read the room helps to guide you on ways to help the students learn.

The first day of class will help the tone for the remainder of the term. Be prepared and intentional.

I learned so much from this module. Having a checklist is helpful to ensure that the key points are discussed in class. I will make sure to carry a notepad with me to jot down important information that requires follow-up. There is a great deal of preparation that is required to ensure that you are setting your students up for success. Students deserve to be provided with clear expectations, so they know what to expect.

Three important roles of an instructor are model, manager, and motivator. Leading by example is key. It is important to be passionate about what you are teaching and display that with your words and actions. It is also important to show your students that you care about them as individuals. Students need support, encouragement, in addition to timely constructive feedback. Be their cheerleader along the way. Enjoy your work by inserting your personality. Be flexible and humble. Establishing rapport is just as important as the content you are teaching. Be prepared and ready to hit the ground running.
