I appreciate the reminder for the basics...making sure you let students know what technology is required to take the course.  Making sure students understand clearly how to progress in the course and take advantage of interaction opportunities with fellow students.

 

I thought the online lecture formats were interesting...Direct Delivery - Problem Solving - Graphic Based.  Discussion and chats are critical for student collaboration and I will use them.

 

So funny that when you teach live classes, you ask questions for student interaction and learning...I didn't realize there were so many specific kinds of questions that actually provide different ways of learning.  I will do a better job in choosing my questions to increase student learning.

 

As anything new, there is a language of terms that are new to me: Navigational Simplicity, Learning Delivery Technologies, Intergrating Quality Media Strategies with Intellectual Interaction.  I am excited to learn and explore designing a new way of learning with online courses.

The standard states, "60 minute block of time consisting of a minimum of 50 minutes of instruction" and then the note in the CM270 states, "COMTA does not require a break every 50 minutes": I am a bit confused. My understanding was that a course had to include a 10 minute break out of every hour of instruction. So if a course was 20 hours there must be 3.33 hours added to comply with the 10 minutes of break time requirement. Am I not understanding this correctly? I understand that the breaks do not have to be every hour, but… >>>
