Activity

Great information about synchronous and asynchronous learning and how to conduct them, definitely was helpful. I also found valuable the discussion on one on one feedback.

Communicating with students about my credentials, my work history, and my hobbies will allow students to have respect and confidence in me.  By knowing about me students may have an opening for discussions.

It is also important that I am present within the class and in class in office hours.

With e-learning the key is knowing the goal, and methods of how the class is to be delivered and the times deliverables are due.  Having a plan, making a schedule, keep me as an instructor, on time with my responsibilities.

Understanding the CMS platform is a good beginning.

I have found that having students teach some of the didactic, they learn better, how about you?

Learning about technology and its many uses is important in order to make the most of the tool.  Reviewing the use of the tool and how it was helpful or not helpful is important. Getting feedback allows the instructor to make thoughtful changes.

That there is more to the development of class online content and a definite pattern to use. As an online student in the past I know it is important for all items to work and testing is important.

I have learned many things, one of which is that there are many aspects to online courses that make them unique, similar to classroom instruction preparation. Having a detailed schedule as well as a checklist would be helpful to ensure the completion of all aspects of online class prep. Utilizing the course management system to its fullest and making the most of the active learner-centered learning will keep students engaged and thereby increase retention. I also have a list of all the items I need to master.

This is a great way to assess true understanding and ability.

If you love the subject matter your students will flourish.
