Open communication is the key so that all involved understand, know, and fulfill the obligations for the program.   Building a strong relationship allows for this and for future experiences.   Having a set presentation - with a handout that can be printed with key points - and a video seems to be useful for the orientation so the business can quickly review what we will go over during the orientation.

 

The training plans allow all participants to understand and recognize expectations, outcomes, and should be collaborative.  Specific outcomes are the key to making this experience successful.

 

WBL Coordinator responsibilities - budget, legal - I assume in tandem with DO folks, engage with stakeholders, plan employer/employee recognition event, advise  CTSO.   A lot to do.   I assume this would be considered an admin position or can it be a certified employee?

 

I appreciate seeing a difference between an advisory committee for my department and knowing that an advisory council can be formed for several programs at my school.  Should we join the local Chamber of Commerce and begin building those relationships now  as part of the community building process?

 

The various components of work-based learning include phases that can help build student success in learning more before deciding on a career.  How does one work with employers who are hesitant about offering internships and apprenticeships to juniors and seniors who are under 18 years of age?
