@jbillingsleyaiufledu :

I use dance steps and facial expressions along with peculiar noises. The students really enjoy this

More than anyting what I gained was the knowledge that it takes consistency from the entire school staff and that school activities are great morale boosters.

I can see how important it is to understand one's audience and learn how to be flexible in our presentations. Ideally if one can be pleasantly educational and maintain a positive atmosphere often times this perpetuates student invlovement and interest. If one can put the training in the perspective where the student sees the value they are more likely to learn and become actively involved

When discussin customer service I find that students respond well to the statement, "have you ever had a bad experience with a shop or business that left you saying to yourself, I'm never going back there?" I have expressed that this training would be excellent if done in a group type environment.

As I mentioned in my evaluation of the course, I believe that if this course was presented and taken in a group activity with roll playing and shared experiences I could have gained more.

I started having students turn in their labs during lab as soon as they finish them. This way, if there are blank lines they can either fill them in, or they know they lose credit. I bring a small file box with me, and as they turn them in, I evaluate them and check off their name on a grade sheet. This way the labs get graded instantly and seems to keep the students more accountable for their lab time.
