Passion is key in any endeavor, as mentioned in the context of service learning.
"...service learning is not the same as community service. Nor is it a form of practicum or internship. It is a unique experience that is tied directly to a student's course of study and for which credit is granted." That just about sums up the whole module.
Summer Bridge is a great way for high school students to attend 1-2 day sumer camp on technology. In our AMET program, we obtain a lot of student enrollment through these types of community outreach.
Kahoot is a great tool for formative assessments, and the students have fun with it.
VARS - Visual, Audio, Reading/Writing, Kinesthetic.
They didn't mention Yuja for screen captures and videos, only Camtasia, Loom, iMovie, and Synthesia.
I'm happy to see I did most of the check-boxes when I rolled out new PCB design software last year in our AMET program. It's not easy to get buy-in from all the stakeholders, get the trainer trained, etc.
Rubrics and portfolios are good means to assess student learning.
The module claims language and culture are interchangeable, but it's bigger than that. New Zealand, USA, and UK all have the same language, but different cultures.
This is a good module. We should definitely not differ or prioritize the classroom, or employment, by skin color.
