I learned several key things about managing an online course and students. During my online studies, the top two (1) Keeping course records and (2) Communicating with students were never an issue in my courses. As for the last four, I never gave them much thought when I was in school. However, my daughter is an assistant to a couple professors across the USA and she grades discussion boards and handle other tasks for professors. This module had a lot of information. I learned and concur with the information provided on methods of communicating with students. I completed my bachelor online at East Carolina University and my graduate degree online at Liberty University. When I think back, all my teachers applied the principles covered in this lesson. I know from experience that asynchronous is the best method for all learning styles for online learning. I tried to figure out which of the three learning styles I had. I learned it is essential to apply classroom strategies in the same matter as if I was teaching a face-to-face class. I learned that online courses are delivery via Course Management System (CMS) and that delivery system is based on structural integrity, simple navigation, active learner environment as well as intellectual interacting.

I learned that support from the instructor as well as the technical support is vital for student’s success. Both provide students with comfort and security while they are leaning in an online environment.
