In my experience as an admission rep, I have had many students think that the school they are currently attending decides if those credits will transfer to another school. When explaining this to students, it is important to make sure they know the school they are transferring to will decide if those credits will transfer. I always make sure students understand this and understand that I will not evaluate their credits, but someone such as the director of education or the registrar will.

When learning about programs, services, career placement, and more, I find it very helpful to participate in mock interviews multiple times so I become comfortable talking about the school and the programs offered there. It is also important that someone more experienced, such as a supervisor, observes and evaluates my mock interview so I can get valuable feedback and make sure I am staying compliant. The more consistent these mock interviews become, the easier it will be to fix problems before they become a bad habit.

I agree as well! Knowing the correct program information is crucial because you want the student to feel confident that they have received the right information and are prepared to make their decision. Not knowing the program information or not receiving the appropriate training can also lead to misinforming students, which can create a compliance issue. If we are not informing students correctly, we are not living up to the standards the Ohio board has set for us.

When reviewing tuition in the catalog with the student, I always find it best to let the student know they will be meeting with our financial aid expert to discuss tuition options and they will be able to go into more detail and answer their questions. I tell the students this so they can make note of the questions I cannot answer and are fully aware they will be speaking with a financial aid expert, who can clarify those questions or concerns.
